Blogging. It’s something I’ve tried my hand at a time or two or five. Something about starting a blog has intrigued me for a good part of my adult life. I liked the thought of writing, of putting something out into the world for others to find and read. I liked the idea of connecting with other people and having a place to post pictures for family and friends to see. I have blogged for various reasons and about various topics off and on for years but none of them quite stuck. This time feels different. I want to document my family’s journey through medicine. It isn’t easy BUT I hear its worth it. I’ve had a lot of highs and lows and growth throughout our journey that I have recently felt compelled to write about.

I want to talk about how our little family set off for my husband to start medical school with a 4 week old and how we literally had NO idea what we were getting into.

I want to talk about the difficult decision it was to choose a medical specialty and especially how hard it was for me to “let” Bryan choose surgery.

I want to talk about how crazy it has been to have 4 little people to take care of while my husband is gone all the time.

But mostly I want to talk about all the good times we’re having along the way as we navigate the adventures and day to day life of residency.
