This summer was one for the books. Bryan had an easy rotation for July and August and we ate up all that extra time with him! He had every other weekend off. The weekends he was on call he mostly just had to round in the mornings and answer occasional phone calls while we were out and about exploring Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. It was just what we needed after a busy first two years of residency. We reconnected as a family and packed all the fun and ice cream we could into those two months together. Here are some of my favorite photos from the summer!

Summer is my favorite season. I love being outside as much as possible and my husband is the same. (Especially after being cooped up in a hospital all day!) There are so many lakes in WA and ID and we had fun exploring a lot of them. We picked raspberries and wild huckleberries which resulted in some delicious jam and milkshakes. We tried a few different ice cream spots and quickly zoned in on our favorite shop, which we frequented 4 times our last week there! (Scoops in Spokane, WA) Mostly, we just enjoyed family time together. Residency has made family time limited but Bryan is really good at making sure we use the little time we have to the fullest! This summer was no different and I know we are going to be looking back on memories from it for a long time.
