June was the final month of a long stretch of Bryan having busy rotations. We tried to make the most of the time off he did have and went outside as much as possible when the weather was nice!

We headed to Rainier one of the days and although the weather wasn’t great and we got a little rain, we still had a great time and the kids loved exploring the Grove of the Patriarchs Trail.

When it started to rain these two were sad that they didn’t have hoods on their sweatshirts so Bryan made them head coverings. 🙂

Washington’s beauty never ceases to amaze me!

I caught these guys playing pretend at this table one morning. This is actually where they can be found playing most mornings after breakfast.

Reese is getting pretty good at entertaining herself for short periods of time and recently started looking at books.

She is also obsessed with putting on different shoes all day and these bunny slippers were a favorite in June.

I had a good friend visit and her Mom had her bring me the most beautiful vase of peonies! It made my day!

Her and I took the kids on a walk one evening and it was so nice to have another pair of helping hands and an adult to converse with! 🙂

All dressed up with no where to go….except for home church!

We thought we were going to Wendy’s preschool to pick up some of her papers and things but when we got there they had a whole set up to take pictures of the kids and make them feel special. Wendy loved it!

We did a few different beach days at one of our favorite places. I love watching these four explore.

Reese and I attempted a selfie and as you can see, she is much better at it than I am! It must be the generational gap. 🙂

Hank loves to be my good helper when I am carrying stuff to and from the car.

These girls had some great times playing pretend in the backyard when the weather cooperated.

I took the kids to a park and didn’t realize there was a mud hole. Reese found it first and immediately began picking up mud and spreading on the top of her head!! By the time I got to her (thirty seconds later) she was covered and pretty happy about it.

Don’t let this innocent face fool you!

We got Maggie a bike for her seventh birthday and tried to hide it in the garage. Fortunately for her, she found it a week before her birthday! Bryan decided that we should just give it to her early and she had a great time cruising around on it.

Wendy was happy to get Maggie’s bike and even learned to ride it without training wheels!

I only got a couple of pictures of Maggie’s birthday but here is one of her opening her presents. She let Hank and Wendy each open one of her presents so that they didn’t feel left out. She is such a great big sister!

She got some good coloring stuff that she had fun working on while wearing her new dress and necklace.

Bryan and I celebrated our eighth anniversary! Luckily, he was post call that day and so we got to go to dinner. It was our first time out in months and we had a great time sitting on the patio of an Italian Restaurant and reminiscing on all our good times. There have been a lot of them and I am grateful every day that this guy is mine!

The best part of the month was having Bryan finish his away rotations! He got to come home June 30th and we were all excited! He was pretty exhausted after his last trauma rotation and after falling asleep on the couch, I looked over to find Reese brushing his hair!! It was so sweet.

Whew! We made it! June was the longest and hardest of the 6 months away but we survived and even thrived on some of the days! I’m so grateful to have our family all back under one roof again and excited to make some good summer memories in the PNW.
