At the beginning of the month we headed to Idaho to see family and attend my family reunion. We were on the fence about going and weren’t even sure if Bryan would be able to go, but in the end he got approved to go and we are so glad we went! We needed to get away and it was so fun to spend time outside and with family.

The first few days we stayed at my parents and had fun swimming and playing pool basketball at the neighbors.

Abbie was a huge helper with Reese this trip!

And the kids were all happy to hang out with Uncle Jake!

Bryan and Jake took the older kids shooting and Maggie had a lot of fun learning how to shoot soda cans!

The kids love to cruise around the yard and neighborhood on Grandma and Grandpa’s fun toys.

We stayed up way too late playing games. I think we were having a good laugh in this picture because I was trying to eat caramel rice cakes quietly and it wasn’t quite working out for me. 🙂 It’s so fun that Abbie and Jaxon are old enough now to join in on our game nights!

Bryan and I took the kids up north a day before everyone else was coming up to the cabin we were staying at. We did a fun trail on our way to get dinner.

My parents bought some property to build a cabin on but for now they just have a camping trailer on it. The kids were SO excited to stay the night in it! They were disappointed that we had to go stay in a cabin for the other days but one night in a camper with 4 kids was enough for Bryan and me. 🙂

We did have fun checking out the property that my parents bought and the kids collected a lot of sticks and were just happy to be set free in the woods.

The next day we all made our way to the cabin and lost no time going out on the water. The lake we stayed on was a no-wake lake. You couldn’t go fast on the boat but it was really private and we had a great time!

I love this picture of Hank and his cousin, Evs. They are exactly one month apart and are becoming little buddies.

We pulled the kids behind the boat on paddle boards and they all loved it!

Reese loved the boat but can’t wait till she’s old enough to join in on all the action!

The kids took lots of rides on the toys that they had there.

Aunt Shelby was nice enough to take them multiple times a day when they asked her to!

And Grandpa went out on a few rides with the grandkids too!

But mostly we lived all day on the lake. There were paddle boards, kayaks, and even a paddle boat to play on.

We stayed up late playing corn hole, Code Names, and for our annual lip-sync competition that never disappoints!

The kids are all so happy just to spend time with their cousins!

Bryan took the bigger kids out fishing almost every night. They never caught any but had fun driving the boat around and enjoying the sunsets and each other’s company.

And that wraps up our 2020 family reunion! I always wish that I had taken more pictures but we are usually too busy living in the moment to get our phones out as much, and I’m happy about that!

Now that we’ve been back for a few weeks and no one ended up getting sick, we are especially glad that we went on this trip. It’s been a crazy year but getting away for family time was rejuvenating for all of us and I’m so glad that it all worked out!
